Since the first vintage was bottled in 1984, Kaapzicht has become highly respected for their good value for money, quality range of wines, having earned a multitude of local and international awards.

For 3 generations the Steytler Family has been running their 190 hectare large estate hands-on: Brothers Danie and George being the winemaker and viticulturist and their wives being in charge of marketing and finances, as well hiring out a venue and a self-catering cottage.

This beautiful estate in the Bottelary Hills celebrated its 60th anniversary as a family farm in 2006.

  • Chenin Blanc 2018

    Made reductively. Grapes were harvested during early morning hours in cool temperatures and were given ± 8-10 hours skin contact. Enzymes were used to help extract flavor’s while on the skins. VIN 7 Yeast was used. Wine lay on the lees for 3 months before being racked, cleaned and bottled.

  • Kaapzicht Bin 3 2015

    Interesting herbaceous profile, showing earthy, crushed leaf components and even agave, but without any green, bitter elements. The palate is broad, with red fruited accessibility, and the property’s signature structure and firm tannins. Medium bodied.

  • Pinotage 2016

    Forward wild fruit, prune and young berry with toasted cedar, vanilla and gun smoke. The palate starts out racy, with a red fruited bright core and firm tannins, developing further complexity of sour cherry, cola, green olives and smoke. A distinctive expression of the variety.
